Welcome to
GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY

According to the Handbook of Accreditation, 2nd Edition (1997), "An institution plans and undertakes a self-study process to determine how well it meets the Commission's Requirements and Criteria and to clarify its plans for improving and enhancing its programs and operations."

Through the self-study process, institutions systematically address several important questions:

  • Are we doing what we say we are doing?
  • What are our strengths and our challenges?
  • How can we position ourselves for the future?

Provost Message

Preparing for accreditation is an enormous undertaking and an opportunity to reflect upon our Vision, Mission, values, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. It is also a time to celebrate our new culture and innovative spirit. This undertaking is not a top-down project. Everyone--staff, faculty, and students--are encouraged and expected to lend their talents and expertise through a collaborative effort.

Jennifer Scott, Ph.D.
Provost & Chief Academic Officer

Note: For your convenience, we have posted archive provost messages for both our faculty and students.
